Crazy Japanese and the Expos That Hate Them

Wow. I mean, I'm shocked. I think Penny Arcade put it best. But I can't believe it's over....
They changed (but for all intensive purposes, they really cancelled) E3. No more giant trade expo. Just small meetings they said. You can read the full report here.

What does this mean for me? No more glitz and glamour. No more crazy import games. No more weird basement peripherals and hidden gems. No more hot correspondants from G4 covering it. And as much as I am not into them, I'll miss the cosplay booth babes.
My dreams are dead.
Sure, the people who have gone have said that it's a madhouse and that it'll be nice to see the good games all year rather than just at E3. But I never got to go. And since this seems permanent, I'll never go.
I remember hearing a story in 6th grade about how a kid sold one of his kidneys to go.
I didn't just believe that story, I believed IN the story, and all I wanted was to be that kid. That kid was me in my head...
...but here I am, sitting. Nakedly blogging my sorrow. With both my kidneys....

On the bright side, one of the crazy import games from last E3 fell into my hands by happenstance.
"Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan" (which pretty much translates to "Go! Fight! Cheer Squad") is possibly the BEST DS game I've played yet. But I'm also a slut for music/rhythm games. It will never reach American shores due to it's over Japanesiness. (Although, they are making a sequel that will be released first in the US called "Elite Beat Agents")
It's a great game (especially if you're a homo) as it is about MALE CHEERLEADING. Your band of cheerleaders goes around cheering people through their problems, such as one who has trouble concentrating on his homework, a girl in love with her boss, and my personal favorite, a horse trying to stop a burgler.
You can only import it, but it's a MUST have in this honest geeks naked opinion.
